The Popped Festival was fun. Vampire Weekend was pretty dull in person, and that was disappointing. It could be blamed on their relative newness as a band? Mates of State were great, as always. I was shouting along all gleefully during most of the set, especially Ha Ha and Like U Crazy. Gogol Bordello, fabulous. Lots of pictures were taken, some of which I will be posting here later this week.
The other cool thing about the day was all the free Fuze I got to bring home. The taste-testers didn't want to haul it back to headquarters, I guess. I will be drinking their orange ginger green tea for months to come. We also ended up with free t-shirts and free cans of a sweet, creamy espresso drink. If it's free, it's for me.
On Sunday, I had breakfast with Drew and his mother. Later, on a whim, Drew and his brothers and I made a trip to Ocean City, NJ. We swam in the ocean and took pictures and ate nutritionally void beach food. And strolled on the boardwalk and made mixed drinks on the beach that ended up sandy no matter what we did to prevent it.
I hope my summer continues to be filled with spontaneous day trips and sunshine and social activity. This is amazing.
