dear diary
Feb. 9th, 2008 04:29 pmI am writing from my brother's laptop. It is only available because my aunt was able to get him to take a break from WoW and accompany her on a walk with Tango, her dog.
We are having a quiet visit, mostly spending our time preparing to eat or cleaning up after meals and snacks. Also, I've read about 150 pages of The Mysterious Flame of Queen Loana, which I'm enjoying greatly. We ran errands this morning, and Jayne and I spent a lot of time talking about schools and social services and how poor folks get pulled into cities because no one wants to spend money on putting satellite social agencies in more rural areas. Jayne is a judge; fairness and diplomacy just seem to be part of her nature.
It snowed this morning, but now it is sunny in a steely sort of way. I thought of some nice images while we were driving here yesterday (as I played mix CDs in a stereo that my brother balanced in his lap, one arm draped over it and the other holding some horror novel), and I think I'm going to try and write them down on paper after this.
Tomorrow I may try to have breakfast with my great-aunt Doris. If that doesn't pan out, maybe I'll go for a walk before the cold front comes in and really dumps some snow.
I hope you're doing something right now that is making you insanely happy or at least warmly content.
